James "Robert" Howell

James "Robert" is the main consultant at Baxter Consultants. Robert has over 15 years of experience in the IT field. Robert originally founded the company in 2010.

Robert got his start working at Students In Training, a non-profit company in Salisbury, NC. Robert ran a computer repair team and helped refurbish computers for those in need before starting his own company in 2010.

Terri Gonzalez

Terri is the friendly face you see visiting us at our shop in Granite Quarry, NC. Terri keeps the company organized, manages inventory, and provides great customer service. Terri is also training to become a technician and is working on her CompTIA A+ certification.

Dr. Charles Patton

Dr. Charles Patton is our lead trainer for the Baxter Learning Center. Dr. Patton comes to us with over 25 years of experience as a science and technology educator. Dr. Patton received his Doctor of Ministry in 2022.

Gaby Gonzalez

Gaby is a talented installer with a background in property management. Gaby is great with smart home equipment, home theater setups, and general construction.

Ellie Howell

Ellie is our graphic designer and website designer. Ellie is a recent graduate of Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication, Advertising.

Alexis Gonzalez

Alexis is our office assistant. Her duties include filing paperwork, updating electronic systems, and general store maintenance. She also provides great customer service and is very welcoming and helpful to all who visit our shop!

Chad

Chad is an intern learning the ropes of coding. In addition, he is gaining skills in customer service and business interactions. He studied at Rowan County Early College and is starting the IT program at UNC Charlotte in Fall 2022.

Company History

We opened under the name "Rowan Computer Guys" in 2010. Over the years we grew to offer much more than just computer services and started offering more and more services to businesses along with our residential customers.

We rebranded to the name Baxter Consultants in 2021. We look forward to many more years supporting Rowan county and the surrounding area.

Where does the name Baxter come from?

Baxter is a family name for James and Elizabeth (Wife) Howell. James Howell's grandfathers name was James Baxter Howell "Big Jim". Big Jim sold tools for years under the name “Baxter Tools” at a local flea market in Lexington, NC.

Elizabeth Howell’s great uncle’s name is Baxter and her great grandfather’s name was Baxter.
